Pakistan: Khilafat Abolition Anniversary

  • Published in Asia
  •   |

THE Hizbut Tahrir (HT) will observe the 87th anniversary of the abolition of Islamic Khilafat by British colonists on August 1.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Naveed Butt, the spokesman for HT, said that the day will be observed all over the world to commemorate the blackest day of Muslim history when traitor Mustafa Kamal implemented the colonists designs by eliminating the Khilafat and enforcing democracy in its place, following which the British cut up like cake the huge Muslim state into fifty small pieces.

Naveed quoted the then British foreign secretary Lord Curzon who while addressing the House of Commons on July 24, 1924 said that as "Turkey has been destroyed and she will never regain her past glory because we have shattered her spiritual strength, i.e. Khilafat and Islam".

Butt said the combined strength of fifty spineless Muslim states was far weaker compared to the single Islamic Khilafah "Caliphate" state despite that it was known as a weak state among Europe.

He said the difference between a weak Khilafah "Caliphate" state and fifty agent states is evident from the fact that Khalifah responded to a distress call of one woman in Sindh by sending armies to save the captives whereas the fifty deaf and dumb rulers of Muslims states were unable to help millions of bewailing women in Palestine, Kashmir, Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon and Chechnya.

On the Khilafah "Caliphate" day, he said various activities had been planned including rallies, conferences, distribution of pamphlets and handbills to activate the Ummah to get united and re-establish the Khilafat so that exploitation of Muslims by colonists and Imperialists could be stopped.

He said the next goal of colonists after eliminating Khilafat was to keep Muslims divided. For that purpose they created fifty Muslim states which were in fact fifty prisons and appointed jailers such as Karzai and Musharraf on them. Then they began systematic plundering and exploitation of Muslim resources, said Naveed Butt.

From Oil in the Arab world to gas in the Central Asia, and from armies of Pakistan and Bangladesh to gold and jewels of Africa, all resources were channelled to the west for peanuts, Butt said.

He said to keep Muslims divided, western agents gave them hollow slogans of nationalism and useless platforms such as the Arab League etc. The biggest frauds of them was the OIC which have done nothing but rubber stamp every colonist agenda and back the west's tool the UNO, instead of supporting the Muslim people in every crisis.

He reminded that in its last days, Khalifah Abdul Hameed II refused the offer by Zionist movement founder Heartzle seeking settlement of Jews in Palestine against receiving huge money. Despite that Khilafah "Caliphate" state badly needed money to settle some debts at that time, the Khalifah declined the lucrative offer by saying that he had no power to cut the body of Muslim state.

Khalifah said he would never work against Muslims' interests in his life time adding that if God forbid Khilafat was destroyed, Zionists might get Palestine free of cost, said Naveed Butt.

Butt said in his last days, the Khalifah also threatened war against France and Britain in 1906 and forced both the countries to immediately stop staging a play in which blasphemy of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was committed. He said the response of Muslim rulers to the recent blasphemy by Denmark and other European press should be compared to that.

He said as long as Khilafat was there even in the weakest form the Muslim armies were moved on the call of one woman.

Khalifah Mo'stasim and Governor Hajjaj Bin Yusuf responded the call of one woman, sending Muslim army to invade robbers in Sindh.

But today, millions of Muslim women are wailing but to no avail of over fifty deaf and dumb Muslim rulers. Butt said the aim of Hizbut Tahrir by observing Khilafah "Caliphate" day was to inculcate among the Muslims that the solution to all of their problems laid in establishing Islamic Khilafat which would protect their lives and resources against all the enemies.

UK's liberalism fails convince young Muslim minds

On 27/7/2008 the English paper the Telegraph published an article about the attitudes of Muslims students in the UK. It stated that 40% of students supported the introduction into law for Muslims in Britain, 59 % said that hijjab was important and 33% supported the creation of a worldwide Muslim caliphate. Furthermore, 57 % believed that Muslims serving in the armed forces should have the right to opt out of the army if they are required to fight in Muslim countries. The article attributed the findings to the radicalization of the students at Britain's schools and universities. However, away from the media grabbing headlines of radicalization a more nuanced explanation is that Western liberalism has failed to convince young minds that have been exposed to western culture from the cradle. This is a golden opportunity for Muslims of Britain to expose the flaws of Western liberalism and present Islam as an alternative ideology to the wider British society.

Obama speech woos Europeans but also captivates some Muslims

On 25/7/2008, 200,000 Germans gathered to hear Obama speak in Berlin. The speech dazzled not only the Germans by also the rest of Europe. Even some Muslims were swayed by some of Obama's remarks and felt that he could make real difference to the predicament of the Muslim world. The truth of the matter is that there is very little difference between McCain and Obama in foreign policy matters, especially when it concerns the Muslim world. Obama on his whirlwind tour stood on the side of the Israelis against the Palestinians, supported Kirzai and Malaki's efforts in the continuation of America's occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq, and warned Iran to reign in its nuclear programme or face the consequences. Muslims should reflect deeply on Obama's numerous nefarious statements about the Muslim world, so that they are not smitten by lofty words which in practice carry no weight at all.

Muslims in Kenya denied justice

On 30/7/2008 Muslim leaders in Kenya accused Cabinet Secretary and Public Service Head Francis Muthaura of blocking the release of a presidential report on injustices committed against the Muslim community. In 2007 Kibaki commissioned the study after protests by Muslims against a wave of arrests that saw 18 detainees deported to Ethiopia and one to U.S. custody at Guantanamo Bay . The delay in the publication of the report is fuelling speculation that the government was involved in the deportations. This is not surprising, as Kenya is a subordinate state of the US and is central to America 's war against Islam in Africa . What Muslims of Kenya need to realize is that there demand for justice can only be fulfilled by the re-establishment of the Khilafah "Caliphate" and not the agent rulers of America .

Gilani supports America's war on Pakistan 's tribal belt

On his first visit to Washington, Pakistan 's Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani reiterated his commitment to the war against "extremists and terrorists" after meeting US President George W. Bush on 28/7/2008. He said that his country was "committed to fight against those extremists and terrorists who are destroying and making the world not safe. This is a war which is against Pakistan, and we'll fight for our own cause." On day of Gilani's visit, the US intentionally launched missile strikes on Azam Warsak village in the South Waziristan tribal region. This was immediately followed by the launch of fresh military operation in Swat conducted by the Pakistani army. In return for spilling Muslim blood and subjugating the people of Pakistan to America's control, Washington is promising $15 billion in aid. This amounts to $88 per Pakistani. But so enthusiastic is the leadership of Pakistan to subjugate their people to American domination that they have started military operations without receiving a single cent. Is this how much the leaders of Pakistan think the blood of their people is worth. The messenger (saw) of Allah said," the blood of a Muslims is worth more than the Kaba and all of its surroundings".

Hizb ut-Tahrir/ Wilayah of Lebanon holds 3rd Annual Conference

  •   |

On the 24th of Rajab 1429 AH, corresponding to Sunday July 27th 2008, Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilayah of Lebanon held its third annual conference. The conference was addressed by the Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Lebanon, Engineer Osman Bakhach, the head of the media office, Ustadh Ahmad al-Qasas, the secretary of the Central Committee, Ustadh Omar Hammoud and a member of the advisory body, Ustadh Mohammad Ibrahim.

In his speech, Osman Bakhach, examined the international nature of the conflict in Lebanon., He explained that the political events of today are nothing more than an extension of the existing international conflict that has continued in the region for decades. He explained that Lebanon was afflicted by the international colonialism in the Middle East undertaken by Western governments. Western governments had supported various factions and taken advantage of sectarianism to achieve their interests.

In conclusion, Ahmad al-Qasas, citing the 87th anniversary of the destruction of the Caliphate, said that Hizb ut-Tahrir called on the people of Lebanon, Muslim and non-Muslim, to work to liberate the Islamic world, including Lebanon, from the subservience to the USA and Western governments. He also reminded conference delegates that the work to resume the Islamic way of life and re-establish the Caliphate did not mean that non-Muslims in Lebanon would be oppressed - on the contrary, the Caliphate would secure the rights of its citizens, Muslim and non-Muslim.

Butcher of Bosnia is finally caught but what about those who kept silent

This week, Radovan Karadzic was finally apprehended and will be put on trail for the slaughter of 20,000 Muslims. But even if the infamous butcher of Bosnia is successfully prosecuted the question will always remain what about those who were in a position to stop the genocide, but chose not to. The biggest culprits were the Europeans who encouraged the genocide in their own back yard because they feared that Bosnia would turn into an Islamic state. And as long as the Muslim countries remain divided and weak the western powers will do nothing to protect the honour and blood of Muslims in Bosnia , Kosovo or elsewhere. Only the Khilafah "Caliphate" can return honour and glory to the Muslims of Bosnia and punish those colonialist powers that spurred Karadzic to commit genocide in the first place.

Russia seeks to consolidate its foothold in the Americas

Reacting to reports that Russia is seeking bases in Cuba to host Tu-160 supersonic bombers, US General Norton Schwartz said," I think we should stand strong and indicate that that is something that crosses a threshold, crosses a red line, for the United States of America ." Cuba 's main ally in the region is also testing America 's resolve by seeking closer co-operation with Russia . Amid talks about a billion-dollar arms purchase from Russia , Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez said on 22/7/2008 that he wanted the two nations to become strategic partners to ensure " Venezuela 's sovereignty, which is currently being threatened by the United States ." Tension between the erstwhile cold war foes have increased in recent months and especially after the Czech Republic agreed to deploy military equipment to facilitate the deployment of a US missile shield in Europe . Therefore, Russian ventures into the Americas through Cuba and Venezuela are viewed to be part of a Russian strategy to offset American gains in Europe .

Pakistan-America: Who is planning an attack on whom?

On 23/7/2008 the US Democratic candidate Barack Obama said that a conspiracy is being planned in tribal areas for attacking the United States . He said, "That is where the 9/11 attacks were planned, and today in Afghanistan and the border region of Pakistan, al Qaeda and the Taliban are mounting a growing offensive against the security of the Afghan people and, increasingly, the Pakistani people while plotting new attacks against the United States." However, the stark reality is that it is more likely for America to attack Pakistan than the other way round. The re-positioning of USS Abraham Lincoln from the Gulf to the Arabian Sea, the dispatching of extra US troops to Afghanistan and sabotaging of peace talks between the Pakistani government and the pushtun militants speaks volumes about US intentions. Moreover, the increasingly belligerent remarks by NATO and US officials, and their stooge Karzai against Pakistan have intensified pressure on Pakistan to cooperate with the US or else face severe consequences.

BJP helps Congress rescue its nuclear deal with America

After a protracted conflict with the communists and heated debates in parliament-
often punctuated by charges of bribery and corruption-Singh's United Progressive Alliance (UPA) of 12 parties survived, a sustained onslaught by the opposition, winning by 275 votes to 256. Oddly enough, Singh was helped by ministers from the pro-American BJP, which hitherto had vehemently opposed the deal-first signed by Singh and Bush in 2005. The Indian media has relentlessly portrayed the deal as necessary to meet India 's growing energy requirements. They cite that India 's 17 nuclear power plants that are capable of producing 4000 megawatts are running at 55% capacity and need US support to improve performance as well as build new power stations. The communists who are part of Singh's coalition regard the deal a threat to national sovereignty. The reality of India 's energy needs and aspects of the deal support their stance. The deal will only double India's nuclear power contribution to 5 to 7 % of its total power supply over the next 25 years-a mere drop in the ocean. The deal also provides America with the ability to monitor India's nuclear programmes. Both of these factors suggest that the underlying reason for the deal is for the US to strategically and militarily bind India with its security interest in the region to counterbalance China.
