Press Release
The Rohingya Muslims Continue to Suffer Tragedy After Tragedy in the Absence of the Khilafah
On 10th November, as many as 152 Rohingya refugees were forced to return to South Aceh after being rejected in Banda Aceh, the capital of Aceh province, Indonesia. The refugees from the conflict-ridden Myanmar region were previously relocated from South Aceh by the local government, about two weeks after they landed in the district. The refugees had to travel hundreds of kilometres again by truck. They are currently being accommodated at the GOR Tapaktuan Sport Center in South Aceh. Meanwhile at the same time, on 12th November, Radio Free Asia reported that Rohingya refugees who fled violence and persecution in Myanmar reported being kidnapped and conscripted to fight in Myanmar’s ongoing civil war for both the junta and the Arakan Army. They say they were sent to the front lines as human shields, untrained and armed with faulty firearms. They (the junta) posted pictures online of them with firearms, however did not give the Rohingya ammunition but put them on the front lines of the conflict. It was reported that around 80 Rohingya who were abducted from their camp were forced to cross the nearby border into Myanmar.
An unresolved chronic problem will certainly become a crisis and result in many derivative tragedies and potentially expand the conflict. This is what happened to the Rohingya Muslims where multiple tragedies continue to befall the stateless Rohingya after being tossed around by the repatriation policy to Myanmar, pushed by Bangladesh. The Rohingya have also been rejected many times after being stranded on the coast of Malaysia and Aceh, Indonesia.
The proverb "out of the frying pan into the fire" seems too simple to represent the complications of the Rohingya Muslim’s plight. Dozens of ASEAN Summits, the UN and their resolutions have also failed to resolve the problem, because the Rohingya solution is surrounded by various complicated problems, namely a criminal Myanmar state, incompetent Bangladesh, the nationalist Malaysian and Indonesian regimes and the siege of criminal syndicates in refugee camps and in the Andaman Sea. A Bangladeshi academic - Krishna Kumar Saha wrote on Relief Web that the repatriation effort is unlikely to succeed for three main reasons apart from Bangladesh's own shortcomings - namely Myanmar's lack of cooperation, and resistance from armed Rohingya refugee groups.
The tragedy afflicting the Rohingya is a reflection of the world order failure that organizes Asia and the world. We need a new world vision as an alternative that will end the crisis and the manifold suffering suffered by the Rohingya, as well as Muslims in Gaza, East Turkestan and all over the world. Indeed, the Rohingya problem will only end with full support for them! This support will only materialise from the true shield and leadership of the Muslims, the Khilafah (Caliphate) based upon the method of the Prophethood, which will establish a new world order, and regional stability by severing diplomatic relations with the colonialist kuffar countries, liberating the Arakan region, and eliminating the cowardice of the regimes in Bangladesh, Indonesia and Malaysia.
The Khilafah will exert all its efforts - political, economic and military - without considering the distance where they are and whatever the cost, to protect the Muslims from oppression, and defend their blood and honour because Islam has made this obligatory, as the Messenger of Allah (saw) said:
«فَإِنَّ دِمَاءَكُمْ وَأَمْوَالَكُمْ وَأَعْرَاضَكُمْ بَيْنَكُمْ حَرَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ كَحُرْمَةِ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا، فِيْ شَهْرِكُمْ هَذَا، فِيْ بَلَدِكُمْ هَذَا»
“Verily your blood, your property and your honour are as sacred and inviolable as the sanctity of this day of yours, in this month of yours and in this town of yours...”
