Hizb ut-Tahrir in Britain launches campaign: Save Pakistan - Establish Khilafah

London, UK, October 7th 2010 - Hizb ut-Tahrir in Britain is launching a community based campaign amongst Muslims in the UK regarding the worsening crisis in Pakistan.  Devastating floods have come on the back of a security crisis, and a failure of political leadership that has worsened an already poor economic situation.

The Muslims of Pakistan have been failed by democrats and dictators alike over the past 60 years. The origins of this failure are the lack of implementation of Islam as the basis of the political system thereby allowing systemic corruption and domination of Pakistan by wealthy elites and jagidars (feudal lords); and a subservient and unwholesome relationship with western colonial powers.

There is no significant difference between the current politicians who seek to rule Pakistan: Zardari, Gilani, Musharraf, Nawaz Sharif, ANP, MQM - in terms of their self interest, corruption, slavery to the west and support for the US-led war on Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Hizb ut-Tahrir will be holding public meetings and round table discussions across the UK over the next two months to build an argument for the only alternative to this bleak future. Pakistan needs a sincere new leadership and a new system, based solely upon Islam. That is the Khilafat system, which is just and accountable, which will address poverty, break the monopoly of the jagidars (feudal lords), where no man is above the law, which is independent of western colonial regimes and which will secure Pakistan by expelling America - the cause of ‘terror' in the region.
