Delegation from Muslim Ummah in New Delhi handed over Protesting Letter to the Uzbek Embassy

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

A delegation of concerned members of the Muslim Ummah handed over a protesting letter to the Uzbek embassy in New Delhi. The letter was against the torture and persecution of Muslims who are working for the cause of Islam and especially those associated with the non-violent struggle of the Islamic Party, Hizb ut Tahrir.

Recently the Uzbek government arrested 70 innocent Muslims, men and women, young and old and sentenced them to various lengths of sentences ranging from 3 years to 15 years for the mere reason that they practiced and called for the establishment of Islam.

The Uzbek government's treatment of its citizens over the past years has been appalling and there have been innumerable cases of torture within the prisons and in many cases death during detention.

In the protest letter, the delegates strongly condemned the tyranny of the Uzbek regime and called for instantly stopping the campaign of intimidation, torture and murders of those who are working for the implementation of Islam.
