Islamic association to demonstrate in Mauritius Friday

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

An Islamic association based in Mauritius, Hizb-ut-Tahrir, announced that a peaceful demonstration would be held Friday before Pakistan's High commissioner's residence in Mauritius, in a bid to call for the end of the war between Muslims in the Swat Valley, a source told PANA here on Wednesday.

"We are all concerned by the decision of the Pakistani government to send, on 8 May, its army to combat the Mujahideen in the Swat Valley on the Pakistan-Afghan border, the association declared in a communique, adding that it was "neither more nor less, of a war prompted by the Americans to use Muslims to combat other Muslims".

According to the association, it had become impossible for the Americans to control Afghanistan without crushing those who fight on their territory.

"America is, on the one hand, faced with a nagging recession and, on the other, it lost the support of its allies in its occupation campaign. In the face of such a situation, this country, alone, is unable to revitalize its stifling campaign," the Islamic association said.

The communique finally denounced the consequences of Pakistani military operations, including hundred thousands of homeless people, women sleeping out in the open, old and young people thrown into despair, homes, schools and shops razed to the ground.
