News from Khilafah Conference 2013: Nationalism Weakened the Unity of Muslim Ummah

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

HTI Press. Abdillah, a representative of Hizb ut Tahrir-Batam, confirmed that nationalism is dangerous for Muslim beliefs. Nationalism is a sense of identity with the nation. It is similar to tribalism. It is this nationalism that is forbidden by Islam. Nationalism is also politically dangerous. It has weakened the unity of Muslim Ummah. They are now split into more then 70 nation states after being united under one leader, one flag and one state - Islamic Khilafah "Caliphate". They are currently in conflict each other as Abdillah conveyed that message in front of 3000 onlookers in Lapangan Tumenggung Abdul Jamal Batam.

At the Stadium of Sumpah Pemuda Bandar Lampung, Dudi Arfian, a representative of Hizb ut Tahrir-Lampung conveyed that working for the establishment of Khilafah "Caliphate" is an obligation upon every Muslim according to Quran and Hadeeth. No one has any reason to ignore this obligation. Khilafah "Caliphate" is a unifying political institution.

From Sorong and Jayapura, two cities with the largest Christian population, the representatives of Hizb ut Tahrir conveyed that democracy is not the solution for the Muslims' problems. On the contrary, democracy is the real problem for Muslims. It is a system of Kufr. It is contrary to Islam. Democracy positions mankind as source of law, people is the owner of sovereignty. In Islam, only Allah is the Legislator.

Tun Kelana Jaya, representative of The Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir (CMO), explained that real change must be attained by the Muslim Ummah. According to him, there are four fundamental points that must be changed by Muslims in the statehood. First, change the principle of the popular sovereignty. Because only Allah (swt) has the right to legislate laws. He is the only One who decides what is haram or halal, bad or good. Second, hand over power from the capitalists to the people. Third, the Khaleefah has the sole right to adopt laws. Fourth, there must only be one Khaleefah for all Muslim throughout the world. The Muslim Ummah is forbidden from having more than one Khaleefah.

On 12 of May, Hizb ut Tahrir/Indonesia held nine conferences simultaneously in 12 cities that included: Jayapura, Ambon, Palembang, Bandar Lampung, Palangkaraya, Batam, Bengkulu, Sorong and Samarinda after the Hizb successfully held conferences simultaneously on the fifth and ninth of May in five cities; Kendari, Jogyakarta, Semarang, Jambi and Banjarmasin. The proceedings of the conferences are live-broadcasted on the internet at www.hizbut-tahrir.or.id
