Palestine: PA Security Agencies Prevents Lecture on the Curriculum

The Palestinian Authority (PA) threatened the owner of the banquet hall in the town of Yatta, to prevent the convening of a lecture by the members of Hizb ut Tahrir. The lecture was titled:

“Recognize the minds of your children: school curricula went too far with the amendments from religion and have split away from the Ummah".

The PA forced the owner of the hall under threat, intimidation and harassment to close the hall in the face of the lecture.

This while there was a gathering of a group from the Shabab of Hizb ut Tahrir and their supporters in front of the hall at noon which was the start time of the lecture. They held a picket over the banning of the lecture which used threat and intimidation to ban this event.

The picketers raised the flags of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, from the Rayah and the Okaab and chanted slogans condemning the amendments to the school curriculum, such as "Shame shame, they replaced Khaled with a rat” "No matter what the slaves change, we will not forget Ibn al-Waleed" and " Hear, Hear you secularists, we will not forget the verses of the Qur'an" and “We will not kneel to the western secularist produced curriculum".

A speech was delivered which denounced the PA’s repressive procedures that prevented the lecture that was advertised in a closed hall, which according to the PA law does not need to give registration or notice in order to be held. The spokesman in his speech presented the amendments made to the curriculum which he recalled from the PA Minister of Education who stated repeated expressions of  refusal from the American pressure phrase to change the Palestinian curriculum, on more than one occasion and announcements including US Secretary of State John Kerry's comments in December 2015 in which the Palestinian Authority called for change in the curriculum. It was a wonder that one of the PA spokespersons actually refused a dictate while the pens were busy making changes to the curricula.

Then at the start of the new school year, the school curricula were changed according to
American dictates. It is not enough that the PA is complicit in the old curricula, but their masters found other traces of the religion and Islamic values and thus infringed further to change and damage the curricula.

The focus was to change the curriculum to obliterate the Islamic faith and make it equal to
other religions, and it worked to consolidate the secularization of curriculum far from our faith and our Deen. The speaker gave some examples to illustrate this damage.
