Britain's Conservative party unveils totalitarian measures to assimilate Muslims

Speaking at the start of Party Conference in Birmingham, David Cameron's security adviser Dame Pauline Neville-Jones said her party has "plans to force Muslims to integrate into British Society." In a deliberately populist tone, she said her party would ban Muslim groups even if they are not involved in violence or promoting violence and solely engage in political activities which are widely accepted from other communities. She also made threats against Islamic charities and announced that her party would ban sharia courts from operating in the UK, though earlier this year the Lord Chief Justice Lord Phillips has welcomed some sort of sharia based arbitration for settling disputes. Dame Pauline Neville-Jones remarks are not reminiscent of Europe's dark ages, when Christians, Jews and Muslims were persecuted because of their religious beliefs. Rather, her statements are a bleak reminder that Europe is still embroiled in the dark ages; only 60 years ago Jews were persecuted in a callous fashion, and now the Muslims of Europe have become the target of secular fundamentalists.

A third of Austrians vote for a far right anti-Islamic party

On 28/3/2008 Strache led his Freedom party to 18% of the vote in Austria's general election. Strache former boss Jörg Haider, steered his breakaway far-right Movement for Austria's Future to 11% of the vote. The results indicate almost one in three Austrians who voted opted for the extreme right. Strache views against Islam are abhorrent and well documented. Islam, he says, is "the fascism of the 21st century". He wants a ministry for the deportation of immigrants; says "Vienna must not become Istanbul"; hopes to repeal laws banning Nazi revivalism, and is pushing for a constitutional ban on the building of minarets.

Europe's terror chief attacks his counterparts for being soft on Islam

Europe's anti-terror chief launched a stinging attack on Europe's political correctness and considers it hampering the campaign against militant Islam. Gilles de Kerchove, the EU counter-terrorism coordinator, said last week: "One of the problems ... is that some member states are extremely reluctant to be explicit about the link with religion...'Religion has been hijacked and distorted for political ends." De Kerchove's statement comes against a background of infighting within the EU over counter-terrorism policy. The European Commission has been working for several years on a paper analyzing militancy in Europe and outlining policy to combat radicalization. The Council of Ministers is still waiting for the now long-overdue paper, on which future policy will be based. De Kerchove praised Britain's efforts on countering the extremists' message through the media. Allah says:"Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, but what their breasts conceal is far worse" [Al-Imran: 118]

Muslims in India denied justice by the judicial system

Recently, a new trend has emerged in the judicial circles of India, where Muslims accused of terrorism are denied due-process. Indian Bar Associations in several parts of the country are effectively banning advocates from defending Muslim youth, in a report published on the website Two Circles.net. The report cited the Bar Association in Dhar, a small town in Madhya Pradesh as taking the law into its own hands. It declared that no local lawyer could defend the ‘terror-accused', all of which are Muslims . Yet, no action has been taken against this patently illegal declaration, said Advocate Noor Muhammad, who was physically assaulted by lawyers in Dhar. The lawyers were seeking to prevent him for taking up the case of a Muslim who he said had been wrongly accused of running a terrorist-training camp near Dhar, the report quoted. The incident is just a tip of the ice-berg and demonstrates how Hindus officially discriminate against Muslims in the name of Hinduvta- a Hindu Nationalistic belief that espouses the purification of India from non-Hindus influence.

End of Ramadan brings no respite for China's Muslims

For Muslims, Ramadan is a time of fasting and prayer. But for China's Muslim ethnic Uighurs, the holy month is also full of fear and seething resentment about increasingly tight restrictions on how they practice their Islam. Overseas Uighur rights groups have accused the Chinese government of mass arrests, which officials deny. Uighurs interviewed by The Associated Press in Kuqa and Kashgar complained of sweeping detentions and other draconian measures enforced by the state. Several local governments have posted lists of warnings on their Web sites, including a detailed one by the township of Yingmaili in Xayar County, near Kuqa. Government employees, teachers and students can't fast during Ramadan. Mosques can't host out-of-town visitors or play video and sound recordings. Proselytizing in public is prohibited. Surveillance of mosques must be increased. Restaurants must stay open during the daylight fasting period."All effective means must be used to make sure that men shave their beards and that women remove veils that cover their faces," adds the notice. A slogan painted on a wall in the area warns Muslims it is illegal to make the annual pilgrimage to Mecca except with a government-sanctioned tour group. The West likes to make a big issue of China's Tibetan monks and wants China to endorse freedom of religion for them. But for China's repressed Muslims no such demands are made, and it is vividly clear that all major powers have declared an open war on Muslims and Islam.
