Ruling by Other than the Quran and Sunnah is the Root Cause of Corruption

News

On 16th September 2016, the opposition PTI chairman, Imran Khan, criticised Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, saying that inaugurations of the same projects again and again will not save him from the Panama Leaks investigation. He said that he would not tire and would only rest in his grave. On 5th September 2016, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led federal government is focused on development, saying, “We are determined to pursue our revolutionary agenda of economic revival and development”. He further said, “We believe in actions and the mega projects in various sectors are a testimony of our performance.”

Since the release of the Panama Leaks, PTI Chairman Imran Khan has been pursuing the matter of off-shore companies and financial corruption vigorously. He is claiming that corruption is the main obstacle to Pakistan becoming a great nation. He has been addressing public gatherings across the country, especially in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the power bases of PML-N and PTI respectively. In order to take his campaign to another level, Imran Khan has announced that he will lead a march towards Nawaz Sharif residence in Raiwind, Jati Umrah, a town very close to Lahore, the capital of Punjab province.

On the other hand, in order to counter the Imran Khan campaign, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif launched his own campaign by inaugurating a string of development projects for Baluchistan on 1st September 2016, including a dam, Gwadar Free Zone, building a Business Complex and a University. On 7th September 2016, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif inaugurated a string of developments, including construction of a university and a hospital in Chitral. Nawaz Sharif said all that the opponents do is speak out against the government, but the public had seen through them.

In fact, both campaigns are misleading the people and trying to divert the attention from the actual root cause of the dire situation of Pakistan in every field of life, which is ruling by other than the Quran and the Sunnah. It is the Kufr rule of democracy which has allowed rulers to make laws which facilitates their usurping the wealth of the nation, fill that wealth in their pockets and then transfer it to off-shore companies legally. It is democracy which allows rulers to make laws that ensures that mega projects only benefit the ruling elite, their cronies and their masters sitting in the West. It is democracy which allowed the formulation of the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) and gave a clean chit to the corrupt politicians, so they can have another chance to usurp the resources of Pakistan. It is democracy which has passed a law that if the corrupt surrender some amount of their ill-gotten wealth, they will not be punished. It is democracy which taxes the poor and gives huge tax reliefs to the corrupt.

If there had been ruling based on Quran and Sunnah in Pakistan, none of the above could have been facilitated as in the Khilafah "Caliphate" (Caliphate) on the Method of the Prophethood rulers cannot make laws according to their whims and desires, rather they are bound to implement laws that are derived from the Quran and the Sunnah only. The rulers can only implement the Islamic economic system which ensures that every project, whether mega or small, will benefit the Ummah only, poor will not be taxed, rather the rich will be taxed as Sharia has clarified, and no-one can pass a law like NRO to give a clean chit to corruption. So neither targeting corruption nor mega projects can lift Pakistan from its current dire situation. Rather the target should be the Taghut of Democracy. So a sincere politician is the one that works to end democracy and restore the Khilafah "Caliphate" (Caliphate) on the Method of the Prophethood.

“Have you seen those (hyprocrites) who claim that they believe in that which has been sent down to you, and that which was sent down before you, and they wish to go for judgement (in their disputes) to the Taghut (false judges, etc.) while they have been ordered to reject them. But Shaitan (Satan) wishes to lead them far astray.” [Al-Nisa: 60]
