UK Attitudes towards Islam Concerning

The majority of Britons questioned in a survey believe Islam is not compatible with British values. The poll also found almost a third of those asked believe Islam is a violent religion and promotes acts of violence in the UK. However, it also suggests that younger people have a better understanding of Islam, compared to older people. Just over two thousand British adults were questioned online by ComRes. Asked about their understanding of the traditions and beliefs of Islam, 41% of 18 to 24-year olds said they had a good understanding compared to just 27% of those aged over 45. When asked if they felt Islam promotes peace in the UK, 42% of adults aged between 18 to 24 agreed, compared to an average of 30% of adults over 25. The 2,000 questioned were asked if they agreed with the statement 'Islam is compatible with British values', 43% of 18 to 24-year-olds agreed while it was less than 31% for all other age groups. The relentless western media onslaught against Islam is hardening the attitudes of Britons, and there is very little to suggest this trend will change in the future.

Cameron says Turkey Could Join EU in year 3000 on Current Progress

It would be decades before Turkey could possibly join the EU, British Prime Minister David Cameron said on Sunday, adding that it might happen in the year 3000 on current progress. Even then, the United Kingdom, like all member states, would have a veto on their entry, Mr Cameron said, with future Turkish accession a key battleground in Britain’s referendum on its own EU membership. “It is not remotely on the cards that Turkey is going to join the EU at any time soon," Mr Cameron said. “They applied in 1987.

At the current rate of progress, they’d probably get round to joining in about the year 3000." Mr Cameron wants Britain to stay in the EU. With a month to go to the June 23 referendum, the Remain camp is on 55 per cent and the Leave campaign on 45 per cent, according to the What UK Thinks website’s average of the last six opinion polls. “The Leave campaign are making a very misleading claim about Turkey. Turkey is not going to join," Mr Cameron said. “They’re basically saying vote to get out of Europe because of this issue of Turkey that we can’t stop joining the EU. That is not true. “Britain and every other country in the European Union has a veto on another country joining. “At the current rate of progress, it would be decades, literally decades, before this even had a prospect of happening," he said of Turkish accession.

“Even at that stage, we would be able to say no." Writing in the Sunday Express newspaper, Nigel Farage, leader of the anti-EU, anti-mass immigration UK Independence Party, said that to stay in the EU “would mean not just net migration at the current record high levels, but at rates even higher" in future if Turkey joined. “Open borders with Turkey would be a total disaster for our country," the leading Brexit campaigner wrote. “With a population of 80 million, it would mean even more uncontrolled migration into the UK." After applying in 1987, Turkey began EU accession talks in 2005.In 2010, Mr Cameron went to Ankara to “make the case for Turkey’s membership of the EU. And to fight for it". During former Turkish President Abdullah Gul’s state visit in 2011, Mr Cameron reassured him that Britain remained strongly supportive of Turkey’s EU membership bid. [Source: The National]

The only reason Britain supports Turkey’s entry into the EU is that it divides Europe. Now that Cameron has decided for Britain to remain in Europe, support for Turkey’s entry has been shelved until a later date. However, why Erdogan puts up with such criticism by all the major powers of Europe is the real issue.

China Warns People to Shun Practice of Islam, stick to Marxist Atheism

China’s top leadership, led by Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, has warned the Chinese people, especially those living in the Xinjiang province to shun the practice of Islam and to stick to China’s state policy of “Marxist Atheism”. General Secretary and President Xi Jinping’s remarks made at the Second National Work Conference on Religion are being widely reported by state media led by China Central TV. President Jinping’s warning is directed at the Uyghurs, who in recent times, have become very aggressive in their protests against the state. Large parts of the population living in Xinjiang province have become radicalized and the Chinese Government is only now realizing the gravity of the situation. [Source: Indian Express]

With Ramadan approaching, the Chinese leadership extremely anxious about the religious fervor displayed by Muslims during the month is advocating disbelief to stop the rise of Islam. In the past, the government has tortured, imprisoned, and equated Islam with terrorism to prevent Muslims from observing Islam. Now the Chinese leadership is promoting Marxist atheism, which its own people have rejected in exchange for practices of western capitalism. Intellectually bankrupt, the Chinese leadership has run out of all option to halt the tide of Islam!

Pakistan says U.S. Airstrike Saturday Violated International Law

Pakistan said Tuesday the American drone strike on its soil that the U.S. believes killed Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour was “against international law,” putting Islamabad sharply at odds with its ally. Relations between Pakistan and the U.S. were already strained before the drone strike in the southwestern Balochistan province on Saturday. The strike was hailed as a major counterterrorism success by President Barack Obama, who said Mullah Mansour posed a danger to U.S. forces in neighboring Afghanistan. Pakistan Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan warned that the strike would have “serious implications” for the country’s relations with the U.S. In the first substantial comment from Pakistan since the incident, he said that if every country targeted perceived threats aboard, “there will be the law of the jungle in the world.” “I want to state that the government of Pakistan, regardless of the target, strongly condemns this drone attack,” said Mr. Khan. “The justification provided by America to the world for this drone attack is illegal, unjustified, unacceptable, against Pakistan’s independence and sovereignty, and completely against the U.N. Charter and international law.” Mr. Khan also said he couldn’t confirm if the dead man was Mullah Mansour but added DNA tests were under way after a family member came forward to claim the body. Pakistan has long denied that the Taliban leadership lives on its soil or that it supports them, but admits that they may visit from time to time. Washington and Kabul have pressed Islamabad to either take action against the Taliban or bring them to the negotiating table. Pakistan arranged the first talks between the Taliban and the Afghan government last year, and it was trying to broker further talks when Mullah Mansour was killed. Mr. Khan said the killing had dimmed the prospects for peace talks. “You can’t expect that you drone their leader and say ’come to the negotiation table’,” he said. The U.S. has carried out more than 400 drone strikes in Pakistan, but this was only the second outside the country’s tribal areas. Mr. Khan said that no drone had entered Pakistani airspace on Saturday and that the strike came from abroad. U.S. officials say the drone did cross into Pakistan for the strike. America has been violating Pakistan’s sovereignty for several years now. Additionally, everyone knows that drone strikes require on the ground teams to track, identify and verify the kill. This suggests that Pakistan is complicit with America in the drone strikes, and Pakistanis no longer need WikiLeaks to substantiate these facts. What is required is a comprehensive programme to stop American interference in Pakistan for good.
