Aleppo Ceasefire Extended by 3 Days

The Russian Defence Ministry has announced an extension of the truce in the Syrian city of Aleppo for another three days following the previous announcement of a two-day truce by the Syrian army on Wednesday.

Announcements of negotiations, ceasefires and truces supported by Russia, and also America, have been continuously used in this conflict to benefit the military operations of the Syrian regime. At times they have been used to enable the Syrian army to regroup and prepare for new attacks, and at times it is used to focus their aggression in specific areas by calling for a 'partial' truce.

The Western powers are always ready to use the discussion of peace, rights and charity for their own self-interest. Muslims must not allow the foreigner to become involved in internal Muslim issues.

North Korea Convenes First Full Congress of its Ruling Party since 1980

North Korea's ruling party has held its first full congress since 1980, presided over by its leader Kim Jong Un who has been working to impose his authority over the party and the country since he took power in 2011. He used his address to the congress to cite achievements in Korean military technology, including in ballistic missiles and nuclear weapons.

In truth this technology was covertly transferred to the North Korean regime by the West in order to create regional problems for Russia and, in particular, China. This contrasts with the demilitarisation of the Far East when the Islamic Khilafah "Caliphate" was the world superpower. The Capitalist West uses instability to build its world order while Islam seeks to promote stability.

Sadiq Khan becomes Mayor of London

Western media is reporting that Sadiq Khan has been elected as the first Muslim mayor of London. However, Sadiq Khan has himself worked hard to distance himself from Islam by, for example, voting in favour of UK's 'same-sex' marriage bill. He has also said that 'extremism' is a cancer in British society and that "Hizb ut Tahrir have abhorrent views".

Muslims need to understand that Western political systems are very willing to accommodate Muslims within them but not if they hold firmly to Islam. The mayorship of London is a high-profile position but without any real authority. The idol-worshipping Quraish of Mecca were ready to confer even kingship on the Prophet (saw) if he gave up Islam.

IMF Warning to European Leaders over Greece

The head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Christine Lagarde, has threatened to withdraw from supporting the debt crisis in Greece if European ministers refuse to soften the terms they are imposing on the Greek government. A leaked copy of the letter of the IMF head to all 19 eurozone ministers was obtained by the Financial Times. Without a deal on new austerity measures, Greece faces a default of 3.5 billion euro in debt repayments that are due in July.

At the heart of the IMF-European conflict is conflict between France, whose nation presently heads the IMF, and Germany, which is economically dominant within the Eurozone area. Germany is using the Greek debt crisis to establish a harsh economic regimen which, if applied widely within Europe, would end up benefitting the German economy and harming economies such as the French.

The capitalist nations do not miss any opportunity to seek their own self-interest no matter what the level of suffering of the people of the world, or even their own people.
