The RSS in India Dreams and Aspires to Deceive the Muslims and the Rest of the people
The three concepts of kafir (‘unbeliever’), ummah (a supra-national community tied by religion) and jihad (‘struggle’, often used in the sense of ‘holy war’) are hindering the assimilation of Muslims into Indian society at large, senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) functionary Ram Madhav has said. Allah (swt) says:
[يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَتَّخِذُوا۟ بِطَانَةًۭ مِّن دُونِكُمْ لَا يَأْلُونَكُمْ خَبَالًۭا وَدُّوا۟ مَا عَنِتُّمْ قَدْ بَدَتِ ٱلْبَغْضَآءُ مِنْ أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَمَا تُخْفِى صُدُورُهُمْ أَكْبَرُ ۚ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ]
“O you who have believe, do not take as intimates those other than yourselves, for they will not spare you [any] ruin. They wish you would have hardship. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater. We have certainly made clear to you the signs, if you will use reason.” [TMQ 3:118].
The candid stance and statement made by the leader of the RSS is a clear demonstration of the xenophobic evil that Nationalism (akin to Racism) can bring about in human society, despite India’s proud claim of being the largest democracy in the world. Hindutva leaders within RSS and its associated sister organizations, know well that their very existence is rooted in hatred against Muslims and Islam among its core principles. Their idea of Hindu Rashtra (Hindu Nation), aka Bharat, articulated in their mission statement did not galvanize people in support of its call. Rather, their polarizing hate campaign over decades against Muslims in India to avenge over 800 years of Muslim rule in India earned its popularity.
The founding of RSS movement in British India resonates with the rooting of Zionist movement in British Mandate of Palestine. Both movements espoused revenge political outcomes born out of religious aggregation within certain national boundaries. These movements that caused xenophobic rifts flanked the eastern and western regions of the Uthmani Khilafah (Ottoman Caliphate) which, though in its final years, was posing a serious danger to the colonial capitalist ambitions of Britain and other European colonial powers. India’s ascension to the British Empire on the back of the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857 saw widespread rebellion by Muslims and Hindus in India against the British Empire. The rebellion made a rallying call to the last Mughal ruler Bahadur Shah Zafar to take back authority that they had been gradually losing to British East India Company over 250 years prior. British anticipatory military moves ahead of the rebellion were able to decisively defeat the ill-prepared Mughal battalions in a short time and justified taking over India as war prize. The rebellion against British rule now was far from over. However, continuous misleading narrative of history to drive a wedge on religious lines eventually paid off, and the seeds of hatred between Hindus and Muslims were sown. Peaceful co-existence of communities with a flourishing economy during the Muslim Rule in India was seen with disdain over British Rule that will soon see breakdown of peace and prosperity.
The founding decade of the RSS in India saw the Independence movement led by Gandhi rallying the Muslims and Hindus in the Congress party against the British in the 1920s. The Hindu hardliners, who will later become BJP many years after Independence, showed disdain for Gandhi’s support for the Khilafah (Caliphate) System in Istanbul when he urged support for the Khilafah rule in Istanbul even if there were no Muslims in India. Europe in the 19th century saw overturning of oppressive monarchs that were predominantly endorsed by Christian clergy. European colonies in Africa, Middle East and Asia were by large territories snatched from the Caliphate and faced the danger of being taken back by the Caliphate. India, for instance, saw the successive Muslim rulers of Delhi seeking authorization by the Caliph despite its autonomous ruling. Britain and Europe coveted many forms of resistance losing these territories, including harboring animosity on religious lines over misleading grounds in a move to divide the subjects of the erstwhile Caliphate. India, comprising then of today’s Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Burma and other parts of Asia, had people of many religions co-exist. The united authority was the making of successive Muslim rulers, who had put an end to an otherwise centuries of Hindu rulers of all sorts fighting each other for territory with differing religious dimensions. The call of RSS to establish a united Hindu Rashtra was a political rift justified with religious and cultural moral high-ground to weaken the resolve of the Caliphate territories aspiring to wrestle out of Colonial Britain. This call has outlived even after Independence of the largest democracy, as it suits the new-colonial regional interests of America which has been usurping British colonies since WW2.
Now, let us scrutinize the tall call made to the Muslims in India about abandoning three key concepts - the Ummah, Jihad and Kafir which are matters of life and death to the Muslims.
1. The unification of Muslim Ummah happened through the hands of our beloved Messenger of Allah (saw) by command from Allah (swt). This Ummah has the responsibility of being Ummathan Wasathan (Reference/Model nation) after the time of the Prophet Muhammad (saw) and is meant to continue until the Day of Judgment.
[وَكَذَلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا لِّتَكُونُوا شُهَدَاءَ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ الرَّسُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ شَهِيدًا]
“Thus We have made you Ummathan Wasathan, that you be witnesses over mankind and the Messenger be a witness over you.”[TMQ Baqarah:142].
2. As for Jihad, the final Messenger Muhammad (saw) was bestowed with the Quran as a source of mercy and guidance to prevail over all other ways of humankind. Obstacles to this call is not posed by common people, rather the rulers, the rich and the unwise with their armies and ammunition justifying on all types of ideas other than the truth. The Khilafah state armies have the responsibility to shatter these illegitimate obstacles by Jihad so people have a chance to come to terms with the truth on their own. However, they are not compelled in their religious beliefs and are allowed to freely practice by paying the Jizya.
[هُوَ الَّذي أَرسَلَ رَسولَهُ بِالهُدىٰ وَدينِ الحَقِّ لِيُظهِرَهُ عَلَى الدّينِ كُلِّهِ وَلَوكَرِهَ المُشرِكونَ]
“It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the Deen of Truth to exalt it over every other deen, though the idolaters hate it.” [TMQ As-Saff: 9].
3. Truth is indeed a name of Allah (swt) Al Haqq, so what is to be made of those who deny or cover the truth? And that is indeed the action of Kafirs, that is to deny or cover something. Rational acceptance and belief in Allah (swt), The One, is not same as belief in anything or something. This is not a term Muslims invented for those who disbelieve rather a term given by Allah (swt) for those who disbelieve, perhaps if you will pay heed.
[وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا بَـٰطِلًۭا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ظَنُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ۚ فَوَيْلٌۭ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ]
“And We did not create the heaven and the earth and that between them aimlessly. That is the assumption of those who disbelieve, so woe to those who disbelieve from the Fire.” [TMQ Saad: 27].
The RSS dreams and aspires to deceive the Muslims and the rest of the people in India and the world. Their aspiration, born out of political frustration, which lacks credibility, is irrational, and it devours peace and prosperity and denies the hereafter for its aspirants and followers. The absence of the Khilafah state, since its destruction in Istanbul in 1924, has left a continuing void in the world allowing the rich, the powerful and the unwise to deceive mankind of their obligation to their Creator, Allah Azzawajal, regardless of whether they have been democracies or dictatorships. The return of the Khilafah state in the Muslim world on the method of Prophethood is the only alternative to reverse this degeneration, Bi’thnillah.
