The Crisis of Democracy in its Heartlands
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
Our viewers and guests,
Dear esteemed brothers and sisters!
It is 100 years since the Ottoman Caliphate was destroyed by the English and their local agents. 75 years have passed since the occupation of Masjid Al-Aqsa by the Jewish entity. More than 30 years have passed since the end of the Cold War. We can then say that the American era also heralded the demise of the Industrial Age of Europe, because there is nothing left in the hands of the Western Kuffar to offer to humanity except a rotten democracy.
They thought that with their democracy they would keep humanity in hibernation for many years, and they dreamt of establishing democratic civilizations on the soil of the countries of Islam. In fact, they know with certainty that their dreams are not achievable, but they do not have any leverage. What they have left in their hands is one thing: rotten democracy. They occupied Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria, carrying promises of democracy, and gave their puppet regimes in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya, the promises of democracy as a matter of survival. And for this, they encouraged the Islamic Salvation Front in Algeria, the Welfare Party in Turkey, the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, and Hamas in Palestine to run in democratic elections, but when they did not find it suitable for them in Egypt, they launched a coup against Morsi, the winner of the elections, and supported Sisi’s coup against him.
Honourable viewers! This is how the account of America and the West with Islam and Muslims. It is a universal account that lasted a hundred years, and what remained in the hands of the Kuffar is a cultural weapon, which is the weapon of outdated democracy. But it is painful that among us, there are traitorous puppet rulers who are used by the West as weapons against Muslims. Those who saw America’s occupation of Iraq as an introduction to democracy in the region, and this team included President Erdogan of Turkey, who worked faithfully for many years in chairing the Greater Middle East Project Group. Unfortunately for them, their efforts have gone unheeded under the mill of the Arab Spring.
Similar to those rulers, there are modernist scholars and academics who say that Islam does not have a system of its own, and that the Khilafah (Caliphate) is a utopian (fictional) idea, despite the fact that the utopia for its truth is represented by democracy, which is an illusory system whose application cannot be imagined. Why? Because no people can exercise governance and administration, and the will of the popular majority is not represented in any of these systems. Most countries that feign democratization are either administered by a minority or by governments comprised of party alliances. Therefore, the saying that “countries that implement democracy, their parliaments reflect the majority view” is a lie and deception.
The most prominent examples of this are evident in Western countries. For example, whatever the president of the state or the Senate in America, come on the basis of elections, the determinant for their election is not the popular will, but the will of the capitalist money companies. Thus, all of America's elected presidents and senators are, to this day, representatives of the will of the owners of oil and arms companies, who are the ones who finance everything, even their election propaganda.
The democracy that America has invested to benefit from for long times is atrophying and collapsing day by day, and therefore human rights excuses have been invoked in order to disguise former President Trump's myths to protect his continuation in the administration, and now Biden is working to clean up the rubble left by Trump. But in doing so, he, on the other hand, wants retribution, and thus America will remain preoccupied with its internal problems and pitfalls.
America has reached a state where it can no longer use its deceptive magic saying, "We have brought you democracy", to preserve its colonization of other countries, because the peoples and people in the rest of the countries are now saying: Let America work to find democracy on its territory first, and let the West apply democracy on its territory and among its peoples first.
They will not be able to find or implement it, because democracy is nothing but the biggest lie in the last hundred years of corporates and colonial countries lying to deceive the people.
You have seen America's reaction to the March 25, 2020 demonstrations after the killing of George Floyd in Minnesota by a police officer. Trump threatened to use heavy-armed force if the protesters tried to cross the gates of the White House, but Trump himself when he felt his loss in the Elections, he did not prevent his supporters from storming Capitol Hill! Can you imagine that? The people in America, which is spreading democracy in the world, see the elections as illegal, breaking into the state's administration buildings, and filling America’s dream with dust.
And if democracy was real, America would have extended a hand to its people first, but it did not do so. Rather, it turned weapons to their chests.
Democracy is nothing but an ugly, disgusting, rotten, and outdated system. In fact, democratic freedoms are taking humanity as a whole to destruction. People in it want to have everything, and if they are not able, then they are in distress, and they say: Money is the basis of life, even though money in all democratic systems is gathered in the hands of a handful of people in society, and this minority is in fact pledging the popular will for its favour, and it gives regimes their determinants.
- Half of the world's population, more than 3 billion people, live on less than two dollars a day.
- 1.5 billion people live on less than a dollar a day.
- Thus, only 10 percent of the world's population unjustly possesses 70 percent of the world's total income.
- The number of people living at the extreme poverty line is 1.1 billion.
- More than 10 million children lose their lives every year due to starvation.
And to realize the amount of corruption in Western countries that implement democracy, I want to share with you some additional statistical data as well:
- In America, one person commits suicide every 11 minutes; and in late June, 40% of U.S. adults reported struggling with mental health or substance use.
- In America, one person is also killed every 23 minutes, a woman is raped every 2 minutes, and one person is attacked every 49 seconds.
Dear viewers:
The correctness or falseness of any system is completely linked to the correctness or falseness of its intellectual base, and today the historical democracy that was tried in America and Europe is decorated and presented in the hands of Muslims, and if we give a quick look at the human experience of democracy, we will not see anything but rot and corruption. If we look on the other side at the Islamic political experience that lasted 13 centuries, we will find enlightenment and propagation. But unfortunately, the traitors, the rulers of the Muslims, their ideas are rather mysterious, and their scholars have turned their faces before the West, and the spread of Western democracy in our country has become their main concern, as if there is no special project for us, and as if Islam did not set a project for governance and administration!
After all, we are saying with full mouths: Yes! We are the callers for the Khilafah (Caliphate), because we have our own project, because we say that Islam is a doctrine whose general, comprehensive law necessitates the regulation of all aspects of life without exception. Allah Almighty said:
[الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ الإِسْلاَمَ دِيناً]
“This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion.” [al-Maida: 3].
That is why we also say: We have our correct project, the Khilafah Rashidah (rightly guided Caliphate) project. The Khilafah Rashidah is the form of government in which Islam can be implemented. The establishment of the Khilafah Rashidah is an obligation that is fully apparent.
And I end my speech by sharing with you a short paragraph from the speech addressed by the Ameer of Hizb ut Tahrir, Ata Bin Khalil Abu Al-Rashtah to the Ummah at the Khilafah Conference that was held six years ago in Istanbul, titled: “Democratic Presidential Model or Khilafah Rashidah?” in which our honourable Ameer said:
“The true Khilafah is not unknown. It is a distinctive system demonstrated by the Messenger of Allah (saw) followed by the guided Khulafaa after him. The Khilafah is not an empire nor a monarchy, it is not a presidential or parliamentary republic, nor a dictatorship or democracy, not following Allah's legislation, nor any kind of man-made systems, but it is the Khilafah of Justice, and its rulers are Khulafaa, imams, people fight behind them and are protected by them ... It is a Khilafah that protects the blood, safeguards the honour and preserves the wealth, and fulfills contracts of protection for Dhimma and takes the bayah willingly and by choice not by oppression and coercion, people migrate safely to it, they do not flee it in panic ....”
