The Importance of the Islamic Ummah's Awareness on its Path to Success

The state of the Islamic Ummah speaks for itself, as we all know, see and hear about what is currently happening in Muslim countries, including killing, displacement, violation of honor, bloodshed, usurpation of sanctities, occupation of lands, looting of wealth and resources, and invasion of ideas and concepts, all of which are against Islam and Muslims. Corruption has spread and destruction and devastation have taken place when the Ummah abandoned the clear path, that is, the method brought by our noble Messenger (saw), who said: «تَرَكْتُكُمْ عَلَى الْمَحَجَّةِ الْبَيْضَاءِ لَيْلُهَا كَنَهَارِهَا، لَا يَزِيغُ عَنْهَا إِلَّا هَالِكٌ» "I am leaving you upon a (path of) brightness whose night is like its day. No one will deviate from it after I am gone but one who is doomed." The destruction is clear, apparent and evident through the disasters, bloody events and daily, successive and consecutive calamities that have happened and are happening to Muslims.

The Islamic Ummah today has realized that the basis of corruption and hardship in life is due to the neutralization of Allah’s method from its life, that is, resorting to other than Allah’s Shariah and associating with the infidel West that spreads corruption on earth and distances Muslims from the rule of the Lord of the servants, forgetting or neglecting that the Islamic Ummah is a living, honorable Ummah that rejects injustice and oppression.

The Islamic Ummah, despite what is plotted against it, such as rain, Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated on the authority of the Prophet (saw), that he said: «مَثَلُ أُمَّتِي مَثَلُ الْمَطَرِ، لَا يُدْرَى أَوَّلُهُ خَيْرٌ أَمْ آخِرُهُ»“The parable of my Ummah is that of a rain; it is not known if its beginning is better or its end.” Alhamdulilah and His grace, here is the Islamic Ummah returning to say to the oppressor to his face, “O oppressor!” Returning to denounce the oppression and crimes of the tyrants, returning and struggling again to deserve its Lord’s description of it as good. Allah Almighty said:

[كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللهِ]

“You are the best community ever raised for humanity—you encourage good, forbid evil, and believe in Allah.”[Aali 'Imran 3:110].

Here is our Ummah returning once again to take the path of success linked to its response to Allah’s command, implementing His Shariah, and rejecting everything else. However, its return must be accompanied by awareness, not just any awareness. It is political awareness so that the compass of its return is not lost again. We will summarize some of the basic points that the Ummah must be aware of as it takes the path of its success:

- It is true that the Islamic Ummah has realized that Islam is a principle for all aspects of life and not just a priestly religion, and that Islam is a religion and the state is part of it, and that there is no separation between religion and politics. However, the issue is not that the Ummah is prepared to apply Islam only, and it is not that the Ummah is prepared to submit to the Islamic state, the Khilafah (Caliphate), when it is established only, but rather that the application of Islam through the Khilafah state is the fateful issue of the Ummah that struggles and expends its most precious and valuable things in order to establish it and to be patient with that, no matter what the challenges and difficulties are. Allah (swt) said:

[إِنَّمَا كَانَ قَوْلَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذَا دُعُواْ إِلَى اللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ أَن يَقُولُواْ سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا وَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ]

"The only response of the ˹true˺ believers, when they are called to Allah and His Messenger so he may judge between them, is to say, “We hear and obey.” It is they who will ˹truly˺ succeed.” [An-Nur 24:51].

The real success lies in adhering to the Deen of Allah and its rulings, acting in accordance with all that is stated in them, and working to implement them in an entity that restores the Ummah’s glory and leadership once again.

- Muslims have also realized the reality of their rulers in terms of their subservience to the West, and that the West is a colonizer of their countries, and they have begun to look at it with a pessimistic view. However, this view is clouded by some deceptions, as the Ummah still hopes for help from its colonizers and executioners and looks forward to their decisions in solving its problems! The Ummah must realize the sanctity and danger of relying on the kafir (infidel) West and its tools, as in many cases the Ummah's sacrifices and efforts are wasted in service of its enemy's project, instead of what it does being in service of its project and aspirations on the path to change.

- The Islamic Ummah must realize that real change can only be achieved by making the real battle in our countries against the policies of the infidel colonizer, his culture, plans and programs. The West always seeks to mislead Muslims with new programs and plans when they revolt demanding change, such as changing some ugly faces with faces that appear less ugly. What the Arab Spring revolutions produced is the best evidence that if the movement of the Ummah was not directed from the beginning to uproot the influence of the West from the countries of the Muslims, then that movement, despite its positives, may lead to results opposite to what the people moved to achieve.

In conclusion, the awareness that the Ummah has reached about Islam is a good Ummah, praise be to Allah, as it is built upon by continuing to increase awareness and by constantly watering it with the ideas and rulings of Islam. This is what falls on the shoulders of the sincere callers in Hizb ut Tahrir to make the Ummah adopt the idea of ​​the Hizb and its method to make Islam the subject of application and rule in the state of the Khilafah Rashidah (rightly guided Caliphate) on the method of the Prophethood, as it is the correct path for change. Allah Almighty said:

[قُلْ هَذِهِ سَبِيلِي أَدْعُو إِلَى اللهِ عَلَى بَصِيرَةٍ أَنَا وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَنِي وَسُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ]

“Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “This is my way. I invite to Allah with insight—I and those who follow me. Glory be to Allah, and I am not one of the polytheists.” [Yusuf 12:108].
