In the towns of Madaya, Baqin, and Zabadani in the countryside of Damascus, besieged by the Syrian regime's brutal forces and Iran’s party militia since last July, there are more than 50 thousand civilians, mostly women and children, deprived of food, medical supplies and clean water.

In the past few months, we have seen a sharp increase in attacks against Islam and Muslim women in particular. Verbal abuse, hijabs pulled off, death threats and even physical assaults; these are just a few of the barrage of crimes perpetrated on our fellow Muslim sisters throughout the country. Islam has set the state functions as a protective shield for the people. The state should be in the forefront and become the main actor to provide protection from all forms of injustice and realizing the ultimate protection of all dangers.
