Early December 2022, The Diplomat published an article about the dark side of K-Pop; that beneath the glittering surface image of K-pop idols lies the Dorian Grey-like heart of an industry that abuses and discards its trainees and stars. While the K-Wave draws attention to South Korea and offers a global position of cultural influence, this attention does come tinted with tragedy.

On the 30th of November 2022, 17 people were killed in a bomb blast in an Afghan school, the majority of the students were children ages between 9 and 15. The school had just ended its prayers when the blast took place in the city of Aybak in Samangan province.

6th December, 22-year-old Omar Manaa was killed by ‘Israeli’ fire during a military raid on the Deheishe refugee camp near Bethlehem, where Jewish soldiers directed tear gas and opened fire at a crowd opposing the raid. This crime took place just a few days after 23 year old Ammar Mufleh was executed in cold blood and in broad daylight by an ‘Israeli’ officer near Huwwara, south of Nablus.

On the 30th November, at least 17 people were killed and 26 others injured in a bomb blast in a madrasa in Aybak, the capital of the Samangan province in northern Afghanistan.
