Press Release
Local Tools as the Pawn of the Infidel West in Enforcing Its Policies, and No Solution for the People of Yemen Except by Implementing Allah’s Shariah
(Translated)
More than three months ago, the Hadhramaut Tribal Alliance and the Hadhramaut Inclusive Conference, led by Amr bin Habrish Al-Alyi (who has held the position of First Deputy Governor of Hadhramaut Province for nine years), announced a sit-in on the Hadhramaut Plateau to reclaim the plundered rights of Hadhramaut. They stopped the export of diesel from the PetroMasila company, which led to the company halting its production. Trucks leaving the company, which supply the local market and facilities like power stations in Mukalla and other cities, were prevented from passing through.
This sit-in coincides with news of an agreement between the Presidential Council’s government and the Houthis to resume oil exports from Hadhramaut after a long hiatus following Houthi attacks on oil ports under the control of the Presidential Council. The sit-in took place as the President of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council visited Hadhramaut on July 27, 2024, without addressing the sit-in. In response, the Hadhramaut Inclusive Conference expressed its stance on the dire living and service conditions in Hadhramaut, emphasizing that the region has not received the attention it deserves from responsible authorities despite its status. Instead, it has faced deliberate marginalization and exclusion despite its sacrifices and stance. In a press statement, the Hadhramaut Inclusive Conference noted that Rashad Al-Alimi's visit to Hadhramaut was unwelcome and even rejected until demands are met and Hadhramaut receives its full rights.
To date, the sit-in remains ongoing, without achieving any of its intended goals; the demands of the protesters have not been met, nor has oil been exported as per the purported agreement with the Houthis. During this period, the Governor of Hadhramaut, Mabkhout bin Madi, visited the sit-in and expressed his support for the demands without taking any concrete action to either end it or achieve its objectives. This has resulted in a severe fuel crisis in the governorate, with increased power outages due to the lack of diesel supplies from PetroMasila for power stations. The electricity system in Aden has also been affected by the cut-off in supplies from PetroMasila.
Anyone observing this situation can clearly see how local entities are being manipulated to achieve political gains amid the ongoing conflict in Yemen. When Saudi Arabia pressured the government to reach an agreement with the Houthis and resume oil exports, the UAE encouraged the Hadhramaut Alliance to move and obstruct this agreement. In this context, Saudi Arabia also revived the Hadhramaut National Council, holding a meeting with them in Saudi Arabia on October 8, 2024, and announced an administrative restructuring for the council. This demonstrates how various local entities operate under the appearance of a common goal — serving Hadhramaut — but the reality is that their political allegiances differ. Consequently, their positions diverge, sometimes leading to bloody conflicts that serve the interests of the colonial powers, who intervene through their regional proxies without any difficulty.
Our people in Hadhramaut and all of Yemen must realize that the political leadership in Yemen, both in the north and the south, does not care about their problems and needs. On the contrary, it only intensifies their suffering, whether through the deteriorating economy or the absence of essential services like electricity, water, and other necessities for a dignified life. It is necessary to withdraw our trust from all of them, for when they act, they serve the Kafir (infidel) West, and when they are silent, they plunder the wealth of the land and its people without accountability or oversight!
We remind you of the words of Allah:
[وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَنْ ذِكْرِي فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعِيشَةً ضَنْكاً]
“And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life,” [Ta-Ha:124]. Today, we have turned away from Allah's Deen and His rulings in politics, economics, and all aspects of life. This neglect, reflected in the absence of Islamic governance, is the root cause of our problems, the hardship of our lives, and the dominance of those who show no regard for us. Therefore, we call on you to work with us to remove these agent rulers and to give bay’ah to a leader who will rule us by the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger under a state that implements Islam: the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the method of the Prophethood.
“O you who have believed, respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. And know that Allah intervenes between a man and his heart and that to Him you will be gathered.” [Al-Anfal:24].
