Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah of Tunisia Heads with a Delegation to the Ministry of Economy and Planning
(Translated)

This morning, Friday, 4/8/2023, a delegation from Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Tunisia, including the Head of the Political Office, Ustaath Abdul Raouf Al-Amiri, Head of the Central Communications Committee, Ustaath Yassin bin Yahya, and a member of the Central Communications Committee, Ustaath Habib Al-Madini, requested an interview with the Minister of Economy and Planning Ustaath Samir Saied, following what he declared during a plenary session in Parliament on Friday, 28/7/2023, that there is a macroeconomic imbalance in Tunisia, which necessitates going to "reforms" because they have become necessary and must be deepened, adding that the government has begun to implement these reforms and work on them a while ago.

Minister Saied said, "The International Monetary Fund remains the first and convincing option for Tunisia until this hour, and there is no alternative to it, calling on those who have an alternative option to reveal and declare it and discuss it. If it is convincing, then he will be the first to change his mind," according to his expression.

Ustaath Abdul Raouf Al-Amiri stated, after going to the Ministry of Economy and Planning, “The minister’s statement deserves attention from our side. Hizb ut Tahrir is a pioneer in proposing serious solutions. A former minister had already made almost the same statement, suggesting that we have no solutions other than dealing with the IMF, and we had addressed him with a letter and explained to him that there is a way outside the circle of the capitalist system in whose arms the political class in our country succumbed, a hundred years ago, in response to the dictates of the International Monetary Fund.” Ustaadh Al-Amiri stressed, saying: "The International Monetary Fund is now in the process of finishing off what remains of our country's sovereignty, which is related specifically to its economy.”

He also mentioned that the delegation went to the Minister of Economy and Planning, accompanied by a statement from the Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir in the Wilayah of Tunisia, for the purpose, and a booklet entitled “10 Islamic Economic Solutions that prevent us from borrowing from the International Monetary Fund and its Derivatives,” out of the party’s keenness to present the competence of Shariah rulings in dealing with the economic crisis, and indeed all of it our problems, since they are rulings emanating from our creed as Muslims, and are outside the circle of bankrupt capitalist patchwork solutions that have long been implemented in our countries, and only increased the consolidation of colonial domination.

While awaiting a meeting with the Minister, we in the Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah of Tunisia affirm the party’s seriousness in providing Shariah solutions to remove the country out of the successive crises whose time has come to be radically resolved through the application of Islam with its rulings and solutions in all aspects of life. Allah (swt) says:

[يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَجِيبُوا لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللهَ يَحُولُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَقَلْبِهِ وَأَنَّهُ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ]

“O you who have believed, respond to Allāh and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. And know that Allāh intervenes between a man and his heart and that to Him you will be gathered” [Al-Anfal: 24].
