On Sunday night 08/10/2017, a naval patrol vessel that belongs to the Tunisian military crashed into a wooden boat at sea after a chase that lasted more than two hours. The boat was carrying about 100 migrants from Tunisia heading towards Italy. Dozens of Tunisian youths were killed. The bodies of eight of them were recovered, while dozens of other bodies remained on the seabed and only 38 youths survived
