VVD is Mistaken in Creating Public Opinion Against Hizb ut Tahrir

The VVD party's Amsterdam Branch has declared on 8/7/2014 on its internet page the need to uproot the fertile ground that breeds Islamic fundamentalism. Dylan Yisligos Zikrious, responsible for security in the VVD, added that organizations like Hizb ut Tahrir can be considered as a launching point and a base for terrorism.

The call to ban Hizb ut Tahrir on the pretext that it feeds terrorism has been raised in 2004 by Zeyno Baran, the former Director of International Security and Energy Programs in Nixon Centre for Strategic Studies in her report: "Hizb ut Tahrir: Islam's Political Insurgency". Anyhow, such claims according to many thinkers and analysts are old and trivial, and are not credible and groundless, nothing more than air bubbles.

Such claims to fight the so-called extremism are nothing but a smoke screen, to allow the government to implement preventative oppressive policies in the country, although they mentioned extremism but they intend to target other objectives, it mentions a part but intending the whole. Exactly as they have used the attack on the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre in New York in 2001, and as they have exploited the weapons of mass destruction in 2002, and now they are using those who are traveling to Syria as a card in their war against Islam and the Muslims.

In the same context, the so-called Christian Union have openly called for banning the Islamic Banner, last week; equating it to Fascist symbols. While the truth is clear, the Islamic banner is the symbol of the Islamic belief and it is an expression also of the desire of the Muslims in the Muslim world to live under the Islamic State. Contrary to nationalistic flags that represents colonial rule and oppressive regimes and the after occupation governments which were established by the West in the Muslim world.

This is evidence that such statements by the security official in the VVD party will attract those whom the politicians fear and warn from, it will also lead to the repeated attacks of the Islamic symbols and values, And in the same way we say:

The VVD party is mistaken regarding its information on Hizb ut Tahrir, its claim that the Hizb "is working to achieve extremist objectives and resorts to terrorist styles to achieve its goals, and by this it feeds the terrorist organizations". In this way, they give the impression that the Hizb in Holland is aiming to overthrow the government, and it is prepared to resort to violence to achieve that, while the method of Hizb ut Tahrir is free from violence and is restricted to political and intellectual actions to enable the Muslims to resume the Islamic way of life. This is why the Hizb is working to establish the Islamic State or the Khilafah "Caliphate" state in the Muslim countries so that Islam can be implemented in life, state, and society.

Hizb ut Tahrir believes that resorting to violence is not part of the method for change that is followed to being about change of regimes in the Muslim world. This is why it does not use violence at all to achieve its objective. The Hizb does not undertake any actions to establish the Khilafah "Caliphate" in any country in the West, and its work in the West is limited to Dawah to Islam to preserve the Islamic identity and gain Muslim support for the call for Khilafah "Caliphate" in the Muslim world.

We in Hizb ut Tahrir believe that different opinions and points of view should be debated in an elevated manner, this is why we are prepared to debate with anyone regarding what is called the danger of extremism and terrorism, or any issue that affect the Muslims.
