Right after its effort in blocking access to the websites of Hizb ut Tahrir, the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) today once again used its powers to further spread defamation of Hizb ut Tahrir. This time, JAIS used the pulpits of mosques in Selangor as a stage to defame and accuse Hizb ut Tahrir as a deviant group.

According to the schedule, the Shariah Court (Criminal Jurisdiction) (Amendment) Bill 2016 (the Bill) will be tabled for debate in the current sitting of Parliament, after being deferred on the day it was proposed on 26 May 2016.

Referring to the article by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar, published in Harian Metro on Saturday 14/05/2016 entitled “Deviant Teaching Threats National Security” where he listed Hizb ut Tahrir Malaysia (HTM) as one of the deviant groups, carrying out activities such as flash mob, street da’wah, campaign and the demonstration rejecting the coming of Obama to Malaysia.
