The Kenyan Authority Resorts to Extrajudicial Killing Tactics against Muslim Clerics

The Islamic political party of Hizb ut-Tahrir/East Africa has received with great shock the news of the murder of Sheikh Aboud Rogo and the maiming of his family including the shooting of his wife in her leg. We have been deeply saddened by this act of absurdity, perpetrated by people who believe the Creator will forget their oppressive acts. We at Hizb ut-Tahrir pray that Allah (swt) raises our brother amongst the ranks of true martyrs and the successful ones in Paradise.

The fact that these killings occurred within a few meters from a police station, Hizb ut-Tahrir suspects that the government is now using extrajudicial killing tactics against Muslims activists.

Hizb ut-Tahrir believes the perpetration of this vile and savage act is sufficient evidence to indicate the safety of Islamic activists in Kenya are in danger; especially now that the Super Power America is compelling many countries to oppress and kill Islamic activists under the pretext of fighting terror! This event is evidence that the government of Kenya has committed itself to cultivating enmity. The occurrence is, without a doubt, a flare of the danger of the war of oppression led by America against Islam and Muslims.

In conclusion, Hizb ut-Tahrir warns the entire Muslim Ummah not to build alliances with anyone who shows enmity towards Muslims or Islam. The Ummah must remember that taking enemies as friends, confidants or protectors goes against Islam. Hizb ut-Tahrir reminds the Muslims of Kenya that oppression must not allow them to retreat in their advocacy for Islam. Muslims must follow the footsteps of their beloved Prophet (saw) by binding themselves to the method of the Prophet (saw) and advocating for Islam as the correct Ideology and System, just as he (saw) did until he established the Islamic State which was the protector of Muslims.
