Australia Tapping Over Indonesian Officials

As reported by The Guardian and the Sydney Morning Herald (18/11) that the Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has become a target of surveillance carried out by the Australian Intelligence Agency - DSD. Not only President Yudhoyono was tapped but also his wife, Ani Yudhoyono, vice-President, Economic Minister, Indonesian Ambassador for the US, Dino Patti Djalal, the former Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, now she is the director of the World Bank, and the former Minister of Youth and Sport, Andi Mallarangeng.

Such surveillance is a deceitful and an unacceptable action. Moreover, Australia is involved in invading Afghanistan and Iraq together with US and its allies. Meanwhile, the Australian government through its Prime Minister, Tony Abbot refused to apologize and did not condemn its fault.

Based on the fact above, it is time for the Indonesian government to close the Australian Embassy in Jakarta and stop its plan to build a new building. The Indonesian Government Plan to stop all cooperation in the various fields temporarily and withdraw the Indonesian Ambassador for Australia in Canberra is not enough. In the sight of Islam, the closing of the Australian Embassy must be done because Australia is kafir harbiy (a belligerent country at war on Islam) killing Muslims in Muslim countries, especially in Afghanistan and Iraq. There should not be any kind of diplomatic cooperation with such a country until it stops its hostility.

Regarding this issue, Hizb ut Tahrir Indonesia together with other Islamic organizations declares:

1.    Condemn the surveillance carried out by the Australian Intelligence Agency against Indonesian high officials. That activity is a form of hostility and tangible deception.

2.    Demand Indonesian Government to close the Australian Embassy and send its diplomats away from Indonesia and disconnect all diplomatic cooperation with all countries that are openly hostile to Muslim countries. This policy must be done to show that the Indonesia government really defends the security and sovereignty of this country.

3.    Call on Muslims to move together to reject the project of US Embassy that brings a great munkar and to defend the sovereignty of Islamic countries. Furthermore we call upon the people to work and struggle together to re-establish the Islamic Khilafah "Caliphate". Be certain, only Khilafah "Caliphate" alone can realize happiness for all people (rahmatan lil alamin) as Allah (swt) promises. Only Khilafah "Caliphate" alone can protect the dignity and sovereignty of Muslim countries including Indonesia. InshaAllah.
