No Safe Sanctuary for Persecuted Uighur Muslims Except Under the Shade of the Khilafah

Radio Free Asia reported on 15th March that Thailand Police rescued more than 200 suspected Muslim Uighurs from a human smuggling camp in southern Thailand - in the latest crackdown on a burgeoning trafficking network in Southeast Asia. Amongst those rescued were 60 women, including a pregnant woman and at least 100 children, most of them toddlers or still breastfeeding.

New Survey on Violence Against Women in Europe Proves Yet Again the Redundancy of Gender Equality Laws in Ensuring Women's Safety

A new survey by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), published on Wednesday 5th March revealed that one third of women in the European Union have experienced physical or sexual violence since the age of 15, corresponding to 62 million people. Afghanistan's Criminal Prosecution Code Fiasco: Further Proof that Women's Rights Will Never be Safe Under the Defective Man-Made Parliamentary System

On Monday 17th February, Afghan President Hamid Karzai blocked a law passed by the Afghan parliament that was to be inserted into a new criminal prosecution code. Many women's activists argued that the new ruling would have silenced victims of domestic violence, forced marriages and abuse by barring relatives from testifying against each other, hence curbing prosecutions against abusive husbands or family members.
