The Women’s Section in the Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir Successfully Held an Unprecedented International Women’s Conference: “Muslim Youth: Pioneers of Real Change”
On Saturday 7th May, the Women’s Section in the Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir successfully hosted an unprecedented International Women’s Conference entitled, “Muslim Youth: Pioneers of Real Change”. This important event gathered hundreds of youth activists and female-opinion makers including teachers, lecturers, journalists, academics, scholars and representatives of organisations, in seminars held in 3 countries on the same day: Tunisia, Indonesia, and Britain to address the huge global challenges to the Islamic identity of the Muslim Youth.
Female members of Hizb ut Tahrir from Tunisia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, Holland, Denmark, and the UK delivered speeches or engaged in panel discussions addressing the key problems affecting Muslim youth.
Attendees described feeling empowered by the conference to protect the Muslim youth from secular government agendas as well as liberal values which are eroding their Islamic beliefs. Delegates also expressed their determination to build the Muslim youth to become pioneers of real change through instilling them with a strong Islamic identity and empowering them to struggle for the establishment of the glorious Khilafah "Caliphate" State (Caliphate) based upon the methodology of the Prophethood – the only vision that can truly lift the Ummah and humanity from the oppression it faces today. The seminars in the various regions were also broadcast online to viewers internationally and watched by gatherings of women in many locations globally.
The conference began with the recitation of the Glorious Qur’an which was followed by the first speech which detailed the international and national agendas of secular governments and institutions to secularise the thinking and behavior of the Muslim youth and to distance them from Islam. The second talk discussed the secularization of the education curriculum across the Muslim world which has nurtured a strong attachment and admiration of many Muslim youth towards Western values and caused them to view Islam as irrelevant to their lives and the world. It also explained the correct Islamic method of culturing the youth such that their Deen molds their personalities and how they see the world in a sound manner, including viewing the Qur’an as a constitution for life. The third speech addressed the specific problems affecting Muslim youth in particular regions of the world. The fourth speech highlighted the extremely detrimental impact that the liberal media is having on the thinking, tastes, and aspirations of the Muslim youth, including glamourizing destructive hedonistic lifestyles and creating a generation that is absorbed in superficial activities and detached from the affairs of the Ummah and the world. It also emphasized that countering the destructive influence of the liberal media in a powerful manner necessitates a truly Islamic media that treats all the problems of the Ummah based upon the Hukm Shara’. Such a media can only be delivered effectively by a state built purely upon Islam.
The final talk discussed the practical manner of addressing the identity crisis in the youth. Points highlighted included: ridding our communities of any non-Islamic ideas and practices, establishing the Islamic Aqeedah with conviction in our youth, dismantling the lure of the secular way of life by exposing the true harm it brings to societies, and building the youth to have pride in their Islamic history and confidence in Islam by seeing it as a comprehensive Deen capable of solving all human problems for all time. The conference also included inspirational poems and theatricals performed by young Muslim girls which emotionally moved the audiences. The day ended with a message to the Muslim youth and a motivational video that reminded the audiences of the great legacy of Muslim youth of the past and raised a call to the Muslim youth of today to also rise to their duty to be vanguards of Islam, protectors of their Ummah and pioneers of real change through their Deen.
We pray that the messages from this conference will aid this noble Ummah to build a future generation that is strong in its Islamic convictions, a pillar of strength for this Deen, and an inspiration to the youth of the world.
