Attacking fasting Muslims in the blessed month of Ramadhan is a display of the government's anti-Islamic stance

In a press release issued today the official spokeswoman of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Bangladesh Fahmida Farhana Khanam said yesterday's police attack on fasting Muslims outside the national mosque, arresting 30 Hizb ut-Tahrir members and activists and subsequently issuing a completely false statement regarding the incident reveals the government's fascist anti-Islamic stance.

The police attacked the Muslims while they were preparing to hold the Badr Victory rally organized by Hizb ut-Tahrir in Bangladesh without any justification and arrested 30 people. Later the police issued a statement accusing the Muslims of charging upon them with sticks. Fahmida Farhana Khanam said a cursory glance at TV footages and newspaper reports leaves room for no doubt that the police statement is completely false. The TV footages as well the pictures in nearly 20 newspapers clearly show that it was the police who were beating the Muslims with sticks and batons.

Fahmida Farhana Khanam strongly condemned the government action and demanded immediate release of those arrested. She further added that this horrendous action proves that the government is anti-Islamic and they hate to see Islam become victorious. It also proves that the government wishes to extinguish the light of Islam from the country at the behest of their imperialist masters. Fahmida Farhana Khanam called upon the Muslims to throw the agents of the imperialists in the dustbin of history and rush forward to re-establish the Khilafah "Caliphate".
