Finally the curtain of the epic “Mother of Humanity” drama is coming down as Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haque said to the UN Security Council on Thursday (28/2/19) that Bangladesh would no longer be in a position to accommodate more Rohingyas from Myanmar (The Guardian, 1 Mar 2019).

A tense situation is prevailing at Baharampur village under the border upazila of Haripur in Thakurgaon when Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel opened fire on the agitating villagers on Tuesday (12/02/19) that killed at least three villagers, including a 12-year-old boy, and injured at least 16 others including women.

These stateless and forgotten part of the Muslim Ummah were stranded under the open sky in the Indian side of the “no man's land”.
