A report by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) warns that Afghanistan’s banking system faces cash liquidity crunch that could cause the financial system to collapse within months. Besides, Deborah Lyons, the Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan while briefing the United Nations Security Council stated that: “Once limited to a few provinces and Kabul, ISIS’K now seems to be present in nearly all provinces and increasingly active”.

Finally, after 20 years of occupation of Afghanistan by the Americans and their allies, the occupying forces after suffering a disgraceful defeat, mournfully left Afghanistan at 12:00 AM on August 30, 2021.

Ashraf Ghani, the Afghan President, in a meeting with a number of political leaders and influential representatives of ethnic groups, emphasized on the survival and endurance of ‘Republic’ in which they agreed upon rapid mobilizing, strengthening and equipping of public uprisings against the onslaught of the armed opposition [Taliban].

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), in a recent report, described the first six months of 2021 to be the bloodiest months in the past 12 years. The report also highlighted that women, boys and girls were the main victims, making half of these casualties.
